According to WorldHistory.org, Jan Hus (also called John Huss) was born in the year 1369 in Bohemia (modern day Czechia). He was philosopher, priest, and theologian. He challenged the policies and practices of the medieval Catholic Church. When he refused to recant, he was arrested and burned at the stake in 1415. He is credited with inspiring the Bohemian Reformation.
